MAÏTÉ DELAFIN Artistic Director/ performer
French/ Uruguayan. Born in 1982, Besançon (France). Professionally trained in Contemporary Dance, with a focus on release technique, in Paris and Barcelona. She trained with Corinne Lanselle and Nathalie Pubellier inter alia (Paris) and attended classes and workshops with Carles Salas, Cecilia Colacrai, Alexis Eupierre and others, in La Caldera, Area, Mudances,Tragantdansa... In 2006 she founded Nux Company and has been central in the creations of L’épaisseur des choses (2007), Déixame Bostezar (2008), Grounds (2009) and Imprints (2010). She is currently based in Edinburgh (Scotland). She will be teaching at the RSAMD (Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) in Glasgow, from September 2010. In Edinburgh. She is regularely teaching Contemporary Dance for professionals in Dancebase (National Centre for Dance), where she often holds a residency for across art forms collaborative projects.

SIMON CONLON actor/performer
Born in 1981, Downpatrick (N.Ireland). After graduating as BA in Acting (RSAMD) Simon performed in classical Shakespeare, new writing, devised pieces and physical theatre between Scotland and London. He later trained with Magdalena Schamberger as a French style clown. He is currently working with Hearts & Minds as a Clowndoctor, as a street artist, and as a physical performer, and enjoys cross discipline collaborations.

KOLDO AROSTEGUI performer
Born in 1983, Bilbao (Spain). After two years of choreography and improvisation workshops at the Barcelona University (UAB), he attended classes in different centres of Barcelona (Area, Tragantdansa, La Caldera...) focusing on release-based technique. He continued his training at the London Contemporary Dance School (The Place) in 2007 and was involved in projects both in London and with Nux Company. In 2009, he will be studying
choreography, as a guest, at the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam.

LAURA DORNA performer
Born in 1976, Cardedeu (Spain). She trained in Barcelona and Berlin in different centres of contemporary dance and studied various styles and techniques such as Limon and Cunningham technique but mostly release and contact-improvisation. Since 2000 she has worked with different companies such as Guaret, Sin-tesis or Guatativoa dansa and began developping her own projects such as “Historia d’Angeline o Angustia 8” (finalist at the Choreographic Competition of Madrid in 2002) “Duelos y quebrantos” (selected for the Festival Fontys of Tilbury in Holland) and the quintet “Primera edició del campeonato estatal de lliscament sobre el lloc” (presented at the Festival Creadansa 08). From 2004 she has been working with the NATS NUS Company (Toni Mira y Claudia Moreso). She is currently studying BA in Dance teaching at the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona and is teaching contemporary dance at theTheatre School la Bobina d’Art in Barcelona.

IVAN MONTARDIT performer
Born in 1981, Lleida (Spain). He commenced contemporary dance training and physiotherapy studies at Barcelona University (UAB) in 2001. He trained with Meritxell Ballús, with Cristina Martí, and performed in the Dance Goup of the University directed by Carles Salas. He completed his training at La Caldera (Centre for Performing Arts of Barcelona) with internationally renown performers and choreographers. He is currently working professionally for Búbulus Menuts directed by Carles Salas, in pieces such as Som de Somnis(2005) and Avui sortim (2006-2008) co-production of the National Theatre of Catalonia. Previously, he also worked in amateur companies such as Cia Alquimia embabia, Cia Ectopia and Fide-uá Group. From 2006 he has been involved in projects for Nux Company, Color Danza Company (performing in ‘EX3MS’), Miradanza Company and in a production at the Liceu Theatre.

NEUS VILLÀ performer
Born in 1982, Badalona (Spain). She started dancing in 2001 at Area (Dance and Creation Centre, Barcelona) after doing amateur theatre for a few years. In 2002 she obtained a scholarship from Area for dance training. From 2005 to 2007 she obtained another grant from La Caldera (Centre of Performing Arts of Barcelona). During these years she partook in different dance techniques such as release, ballet and modern dance, as well as workshops on choreography and improvisation. She also attended classes in other centres such as Mudances in Barcelona and, from time to time, in Brussels (La Raffinerie, Hibrid). Her work
as a choreographer includes ‘Els germans Garse’ (with Carles Salas and Isabel Vega), ‘50 faces’ (with Clara Tena) and ‘Provant’ (solo piece)…

ELI MARCOS performer
Born in 1985, Barcelona (Spain). She started her dance training in Laura Esteve’s Dance Centre, in Ballet and contemporary dance. She attended summer intensives at the renown Rosella Hightower’s Dance Centre in Cannes (France), where she enhanced her training and was introduced to the motion of jazz. In 2003 she attended clases and workshops with professional Spanish companies such as Mudances and Lanonima Imperial as well as La Caldera. Eli joined the “Aula de dansa” at Barcelona University (UAB) until 2006, and then she moved to London to enter the touring company Edge'07, earning herself a Postgraduate diploma in Performance from The Place, London Contemporary Dance School. Since finishing with Edge'07, she has assisted in the teaching of release and creative study for the Youth Dance Programme based at The Place, as well as performing in shared platforms both across London and Spain.

NICOLAS SALOMON composer
Born in 1977,Dijon (France), he currently works in Besançon (France). A Music Composer in Computer assisted music and also explores various other Medias: volume, painting, several techniques of images (collage, photo-editing) and comics. He studied at the Fine Arts of Besançon where he experimented in photography, installations and sound. He dedicates his other time to music composition assisted by computer. He attempts to develop a sound universe that is related with image and narration. His compositions are made of almost identifiable sounds , thus producing images in the listeners’ minds that stimulate their imagination.

POPPY ACKROYD musician
Poppy Ackroyd has a BMus (Hons) and a MMus in Piano Performance from Edinburgh University. She specialises in performing contemporary classical piano music, where possible working with the composers in preparation for performances. Recitals have included premiers of new works by award winning Scottish composer Helen Grime and Icelandic composer Haflidi Halgrimsson.
In the last few years Poppy has collaborated with film maker Kate Moyse and artist Kate MacKay on short films. Currently she is working on live mutimedia projects with both the Humm Collective and dancer Maite Delafin.
As a member of Joe Acheson Quartet she has played with amongst others,Jaga Jazzist, Giles Peterson, Aim and Bonobo and at festivals including Triptych, Sound, T in the Park and Dialogues.
As a session musician she has performed on numerous albums as well as live radio sessions for BBC1, BBC Radio Scotland and XFM Scotland. She has arranged and performed music for BBC Radio 3 and Radio 4 and also for TV adverts and audio books.

JOHN LEMKE sound designer
John is a composer & sound designer from Berlin, who is currently based in Glasgow, Scotland. He splits his work between music commissions, film sound and live performance work.
After dipping his toes into all sorts of musical partnerships in his hometown, John decided to pack his bags and move to the UK to study theatre production and sound. Becoming a true sonic obsessive, he gained an MSc in Sound Design at Edinburgh University. Since then John has been working on a broad range of short and feature length films, animation and TV productions as composer & sound designer, including the Bafta Scotland nominated 'The Flyer' and ‘I’m In Away From Here’ and most recently three Channel 4 Cutting Edge documentaries. John is also part of the multimedia performance collective Humm.

ISRAEL QUINTERO light designer
He studied Audiovisuals (Photography, Sound, Camera and Video editing) specializing in Lighting at School of Performing Arts of Granada (Spain). After work experience in Valencia he moved to Barcelona where he worked as a technician at the ‘Espai Escenic Joan Brossa’ for two seasons and three seasons at the Tantarantana Theatre. He has to date designed light for "ALGO" by Alex Mañas, Cia Teatro en Cursiva, "BALL TRAMPA" by Cia Stress Teatre, "MEJORANDO LO PRESENTE" by Alvaro de la Peña and for the Dance Company Iliacan with which he is presently working and has been on tour at the same time with Companies such as La Roda, Gelabert-Azzopardi o Nux.

ROGER ORRA stage designer
He studies at the School of Performing Arts of Barcelona (Institut del Teatre), specializing in stage design. He has been a stage designer assistant of Frederic Amat in projects premiered at the Classical Theatre Festival of Mérida (Spain), Teatro Real, Festival Temporada Alta and Teatre lliure and has been a stage and costume designer in works performed in the Alternative Festival of Bogotá (Colombia) and at different Theatres of Barcelona such as Sala Becket. Currently, he is assisting Jon Berrondo in a project for Teatro la Zarzuela.

IVÁN TORRES HDEZ visuals artist
Born in 1981, Madrid (Spain). He studied at the Film College of Madrid where he received an audiovisual education strongly influenced by litterature and visual arts. The narrative structure has always been part of his work as well as an aesthetic conceived as a thread and an atmospheric element. Iván has worked for various artists from different nationalities and for art galleries both in Spain and the UK, as a result he has directed the 2007 the Pyrenees International Arts Festival. Currently, he lives in Edinburgh where he works as a filmmaker and an audiovisual performance artists for musicians as well as theatre and dance companies.
